University of Baguio Shines in DepEd-CAR Education Week 2025

The University of Baguio (UB) has been honored as one of the recipients of the Department of Education Cordillera Administrative Region’s (DepEd-CAR) committed partners award during the Education Week celebration held on December 5, 2025, at DepEd-CAR, Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet.

This prestigious recognition acknowledges UB’s exceptional support and unwavering commitment to the successful implementation of various initiatives, including the Adapt-A-School (ASP) and Salaknib Tan Namnama
(STN) programs. These programs have significantly enriched the Cordillera community and empowered the youth, reflecting UB’s dedication to quality education and community service.

Dr. Julius Gat-eb, Principal of UBLES, and Dr. Violeta Apiles, Principal of UBHS, accepted the award, symbolizing UB’s commitment to fostering strong relationships with government agencies and the community.
The Education Week celebration, themed “The CARing Community: Celebrating Synergy in Education,” highlights the importance of collaboration and partnership in achieving quality education.

UB’s work directly supports SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting inclusive and equitable learning environments and extending educational resources to underserved schools. Its involvement in ASP and STN also reflects the spirit of SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, as these programs foster resilient, engaged, and well-supported learning communities within the region. Furthermore, UB’s active collaboration with DepEd-CAR and various stakeholders echoes SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, demonstrating the university’s belief that collective action is essential in achieving long-term educational development.

This achievement reaffirms UB’s dedication to championing quality education, nurturing sustainable and empowered communities, and strengthening partnerships for collective progress.
