UB and Eight Under Par (Palawan Pawnshop) Partner in Support of Environmental Sustainability

Other Posts

Fostering sustainable initiatives geared toward addressing real-world challenges is one of the core foundations of the University of Baguio’s partnerships. The university is keen on establishing relationships with organizations that can help it attain the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other similar endeavors, giving the institution the means to be able to give back to the community through outreach and extension.

In support of this goal, UB has formalized a partnership with Eight Under Par (Palawan Pawnshop), signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that solidifies the collaborative efforts of both institutions for the ‘1 Million Trees Project” and the UN SDGs. This partnership would not be possible without the efforts of UB’s Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and the Research, Extension, Innovation and Community Outreach (RIECO) Office.

The partnership with Eight Under Par also seeks to initiate and implement other similar projects geared toward environmental conservation and rehabilitation, such as the university’s ‘Greening, Optimizing, Orchestrating, and Magnifying Mother Earth (G.R.O.O.M. M.E.)’ project and vertical gardening initiatives. Through these collaborative projects, both institutions aim to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices within the community.

The University of Baguio aims to continue forging partnerships with organizations that can help it leave a positive and lasting impact on the environment and the community.
