The program commenced with Dr. Marjorie M. Balay-as, Field Technician Consultant for the LCT Project at UNDP, delivering a comprehensive overview of the Dalan ni Taltallak project. This project, a collaboration between the University of Baguio, University of the Cordilleras, Saint Louis University, DOTr, City of Baguio, and UNDP, aims to research and develop innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions in the city.

With great enthusiasm and pride, Engr. Saong officially announced the commencement of the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with specialization in Transportation and Engineering, marking a significant milestone for the University of Baguio.

Dr. Selva Ramachandran, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme, and Usec. Anneli R. Lontoc, CESO 1 of the Department of Transportation, graced the occasion with their presence and delivered powerful messages of support for the newly launched program. They emphasized the importance of academia, government, and international organizations working together to address the pressing challenges of carbon emissions and promote sustainable mobility.

In recognition of the delegates’ invaluable contributions, President Javier of the University of Baguio presented a well-deserved plaque of appreciation. This gesture served as a token of gratitude for their unwavering support and commitment to the development of the Transportation Engineering Program, reaffirming the strong partnership between the University of Baguio and its esteemed collaborators. Engr. Januario S. Borillo of the Baguio city engineering office represented Hon. Benjamin Magalong, Baguio city’s mayor, in giving a response to the Expression of Appreciation for the honor given by the university and also closed the program with his closing remarks.
