The University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School (UBLES) proudly brought Math and Science to life this September through its annual Math and Science Month 2025, carrying the inspiring theme: “Towards a Shared Vision: Exploring the Future for a Better Tomorrow.”
This much-awaited celebration transformed classrooms into hubs of creativity, curiosity, and innovation, as pupils demonstrated that Math and Science are more than just subjects—they are tools for solving real-world challenges and building a sustainable future.

The month-long event gave young learners the opportunity to shine, not only in academics but also in teamwork, artistry, and problem-solving. From solving tricky equations to designing eco-friendly costumes, pupils showed how learning becomes more exciting when applied beyond the four walls of the classroom.
UBLES further emphasized how Math and Science connect to global responsibility by aligning the celebration with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- Through interactive and competitive activities, pupils strengthened their skills and love for learning (SDG 4: Quality Education).
- Eco-centered events such as Dance for the Environment and Bulletin Board Designing raised awareness about protecting the planet (SDG 13: Climate Action).
- The SciMat Modeling Contest promoted recycling and creativity by transforming old materials into dazzling costumes (SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production).
Excitement filled the campus as pupils participated in a variety of contests designed to challenge both the mind and the imagination:
- Math and Science Quiz Bee (Preschool to Grade 6) – A battle of wits where quick thinking and sharp knowledge earned winners medals and the honor of representing UBLES in the ASMEPPS Quiz Bee 2025.
- SciMat Modeling (Preschool to Grade 3) – Creativity met sustainability as pupils wowed the audience in costumes made from recycled materials.
- Math and Science Quest Run 2025 (Preschool to Grade 6) – A fun-filled relay that combined teamwork, strategy, and brainpower.
- Poster-Making Contest (Grades 4–6) – Budding artists illustrated the beauty of science and technology through vibrant artworks.
- Dance for the Environment (Grades 4–6) – Pupils spread powerful messages of sustainability through expressive and eco-friendly performances.
- Bulletin Board Designing (Preschool to Grade 6) – Each grade level transformed bulletin boards into creative showcases of science, environment, and imagination.
What made Math and Science Month 2025 truly remarkable wasn’t just the medals or certificates, but the values it cultivated—perseverance, teamwork, creativity, and a sense of global responsibility. The UBLES Math and Science teachers, class advisers, administration, pupils, parents, and the school community all came together, proving that education thrives when learning is fun, meaningful, and connected to real-world issues.
By the end of the celebration, UBLES pupils had not only demonstrated their knowledge and skills but also their passion for using Math and Science to build a better world. The event reminded everyone that these subjects are not merely about numbers or formulas—they are powerful forces that spark change, inspire innovation, and shape a sustainable future aligned with the SDGs.
As the curtain closed on Math and Science Month 2025, one thing was clear: the young minds of UBLES are ready to explore, innovate, and lead us all toward a shared vision for a better tomorrow.

Shining young scientists and artists in one! Shining young scientists and artists in one! Turning trash into treasure! UBLES pupils wowed the crowd in the SciMat Modeling Contest, proving that fashion can be fun, fabulous, and eco-friendly.
