The Boy and Girl Scouts of the Philippines – Baguio City Council led the 89th National Scouting Month Parade on Saturday, October 11, 2025, with the theme “Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders.” The parade, which stretched from the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center to the Baguio Athletic Bowl, marked the official opening of the city’s month-long Scouting celebration. Thousands of Scouts, troop leaders, teachers, and parents joined the parade, transforming Baguio’s streets into a sea of colorful scarves, flags, and chants that reflected the spirit of unity and discipline. Among the participating schools was the University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School (UBLES), proudly represented by its Scouts and troop leaders—Ma’am Hazel Joy B. Cabalhin, Ma’am Jemmabel L. Santiago, Sir Aladin A. Callejo, Ma’am Rea G. Kia, and Sir Kevin C. Liban.

The UBLES Scouts, together with their parents and guardians, marched with pride and enthusiasm, demonstrating the school’s active commitment to character formation and community involvement. The participation of families highlighted the close partnership between home and school in nurturing young Scouts who embody leadership and service.
Upon reaching the Baguio Athletic Bowl, participants gathered for a formal program that began with the raising of the national colors and the recitation of the Scout Oath and Law. The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the 2025 Scout Officials-for-a-Day (SOFAD), followed by inspirational messages from representatives of the City Government of Baguio and the Baguio City Police Office.
Speakers underscored the vital role of Scouting in developing discipline, civic responsibility, and leadership among the youth, aligning with this year’s theme, “Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders.”
The University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School community expressed pride in being part of the citywide celebration, emphasizing that Scouting remains an essential avenue for building teamwork, self-reliance, and service-oriented citizenship among learners. As the day concluded, the UBLES Scouts stood tall under the Baguio sunshine—symbols of enthusiasm, dedication, and the enduring spirit of Scouting in action.
