UBLES Tripartite 2026 Strengthens Collaborative Curriculum Enhancement Efforts

Writer: Diana Lyn G. Tamayo

In line with the University’s commitment to quality education and continuous improvement, the University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School (UBLES) successfully conducted its Tripartite Program on March 2, 2026, at the UBLES Quadrangle in Baguio City. Guided by the theme “Three Forces. One Vision.”, the activity gathered key stakeholders—alumni, PTCA officers, parents, and subject heads—in a unified effort to collaboratively enhance and strengthen the school’s curriculum.

The Tripartite initiative was designed to promote shared governance and inclusive decision-making in academic development. Anchored on the objectives to evaluate curriculum effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with standards and school goals, the program provided a structured platform for meaningful dialogue and collective reflection.

The program formally opened with registration, followed by prayer, the singing of the National Anthem and UB Loyalty, and the presentation of the rationale and objectives of the meeting by Diana Lyn G. Tamayo, MAEd, UBLES Assistant Principal. An inspirational message and curriculum updates were delivered by Dr. Julius T. Gat-eb, UBLES Principal, emphasizing the importance of stakeholder engagement in sustaining academic excellence and responsiveness to the evolving educational landscape.

A comprehensive review of the Revised K–6 Curriculum was presented, highlighting key developments and instructional priorities. Participants were actively engaged in stakeholder sharing sessions and a workshop on SWOT analysis, where they examined the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to curriculum implementation. This collaborative workshop enabled stakeholders to provide constructive feedback grounded in their diverse experiences and perspectives.

Significantly, the discussion extended beyond curriculum content to include a thorough review of the alignment of the school’s operational plan, academic calendar, program expected outcomes, vision, mission, goals, objectives, and graduate attributes. This holistic review ensured coherence between instructional delivery, institutional direction, and learner development outcomes.

Through group presentations, synthesis, and the awarding of certificates, the activity concluded with a renewed commitment from all sectors to work together toward sustained improvement. The 2026 UBLES Tripartite Program exemplifies participatory leadership and shared accountability in advancing quality basic education—strengthening partnerships among the school, families, and alumni in pursuit of one common goal: delivering relevant, standards-aligned, and future-ready education for every UBLES learner.

The program also reflects the school’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It strongly aligns with SDG 4 – Quality Education, as the initiative focused on evaluating and enhancing the K–6 curriculum to ensure that learners receive inclusive, relevant, and high-quality education. By reviewing instructional strategies, learning outcomes, and curriculum standards, the school ensures that its programs remain responsive to the needs of learners and the demands of the changing educational landscape.

The activity likewise demonstrates alignment with SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, as it brought together multiple stakeholders—school leaders, teachers, alumni, parents, and PTCA representatives—to collaboratively contribute ideas and feedback for curriculum improvement. The Tripartite structure itself reflects the value of partnership, recognizing that strong collaboration among the school and its community is essential in achieving meaningful and sustainable educational development.

Furthermore, the program supports SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by promoting transparent, participatory, and inclusive decision-making processes within the school community. Through open dialogue, shared accountability, and structured evaluation mechanisms such as SWOT analysis, the initiative strengthens institutional practices and reinforces a culture of responsible governance and collaborative leadership in education.

Through initiatives such as the Tripartite Program, UBLES continues to demonstrate its dedication to fostering excellence, collaboration, and sustainability in education, ensuring that every learner is prepared to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.
