Laptop Deployment Activity Supports Hands-on Learning for Students in Enterprise Systems Development
The University of Baguio (UB), through the School of Information Technology (SIT), continues to enhance its industry-aligned academic initiatives through the implementation of the SAP ABAP Training Program in partnership with Accenture. Established under a formal Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), the program aims to equip students with specialized competencies in enterprise systems development, reinforcing UB’s commitment to producing globally competitive graduates.
As part of the program rollout, Accenture representatives visited the University on March 17–18, 2026, to conduct a laptop deployment activity for students enrolled in the SAP ABAP training program. The laptops, configured to meet the technical requirements of SAP development environments, were officially lent to students to support their participation in hands-on training sessions.

This initiative ensures that learners have access to appropriate digital tools, enabling them to fully engage in practical exercises and simulations aligned with real-world enterprise applications. It also reflects Accenture’s strong support for capability development and its continued investment in nurturing future IT professionals
The SAP ABAP Training Program focuses on Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP), a core programming language used in SAP systems adopted by organizations worldwide. Through this training, students gain exposure to enterprise application development, system customization, and business process integration—key competencies required in today’s technology-driven industries.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the initiative contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by providing relevant, technology-driven learning experiences that enhance student competencies. It also supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by improving employability and preparing students for high-value careers in IT and consulting. Furthermore, the collaboration exemplifies SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, demonstrating the impact of strong industry-academe linkages in advancing education and workforce development.
The successful rollout of the SAP ABAP Training Program marks a significant milestone in UB’s continuous quality improvement efforts and its strategic direction toward strengthening industry partnerships, advancing digital competencies, and contributing to sustainable development.
