Preschoolers Learn Oral Hygiene to Prevent Dental Caries

Other Posts

SOD Dental Public Health student volunteers conducted an oral hygiene education session last February 20, 2024 among 150 child development learners aged 3-5.  This endeavor aimed to promote proper oral hygiene for the prevention of dental caries among preschool children, who are considered as one of the high risk groups for dental caries.

The activity took place at the Community Child Development Centers of: Quezon Hill Proper, Middle Quezon Hill, Upper Quezon Hill, and Victoria Village. The children were taught proper toothbrushing through demonstrations and interactive games.  Oral hygiene kits were also distributed to the children.  Mothers and guardians of the children were also present during the activity. This is an annual activity being conducted by SOD as one of its projects in celebration of the National Oral Health Month.

The education session is in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 3: Good Health and Well-Being, seeking to promote good oral hygiene amongst the younger members of the community.
