In a remarkable act of generosity and community partnership, the University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School (UBLES) conducted an outreach and extension activity last November 27, 2024. The initiative saw the donation of 28 chairs to Lucban Elementary School, a significant gesture aimed at enhancing the learning environment of the recipient school.
The turnover ceremony was facilitated through the School Division Office of Baguio, represented by District Supervisor Mrs. Brendalee Celino Awingan. Held in a spirit of collaboration and service, the activity underscores UBLES’s commitment to fostering a culture of solidarity within the educational community.
Principal Dr. Julius T. Gat-eb and Assistant Principal Mrs. Alicia D. Rivera, expressed pride in the school’s continued dedication to supporting neighboring schools. “Education is not just about what happens within our classrooms. It’s also about how we extend our resources and share our blessings with others,” they shared during the handover activity at UBLES grounds.
Lucban Elementary School warmly received the chairs, which are expected to significantly contribute to improving classroom facilities. District Supervisor Awingan conveyed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “This donation is more than just a gift; it is a reflection of the shared commitment to education and the welfare of our students. We are deeply thankful to UBLES for this kind gesture.”
Mrs. Brendalee Celino Awingan, District Supervisor, highlighted the importance of such outreach activities, emphasizing that partnerships among schools promote not only resource sharing but also unity and mutual growth in the academic sector.
The donation of chairs is a continuation of UBLES’s tradition of community service, driven by its mission to contribute meaningfully to the development of education in the Baguio community. By addressing tangible needs such as classroom furniture, UBLES bridges the gap between schools with varying resources and strengthens the spirit of collaboration.
This outreach activity is a testament to how schools, as centers of learning and leadership, can make a lasting impact beyond their immediate academic communities. With the success of this activity, UBLES hopes to inspire other institutions to initiate similar programs that benefit and uplift education as a whole.
Through this meaningful gesture, the UBLES reaffirms its role as a proactive partner in promoting quality education and community development.
