The University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School (UBLES) proudly concluded its dynamic Summer Enhancement Program 2025, held from July 7 to 11, with a vibrant culminating activity at the UBLES Quadrangle on the morning of July 11, 2025. Designed to enrich both academic excellence and creative expression, this year’s program went beyond skill development, it boldly embraced the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically targeting Quality Education (SDG 4), Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), and the promotion of creativity, culture, and the arts.
Divided into academic and non-academic strands, the program catered to the diverse interests and learning needs of UBLES learners. The academic enhancement focused on core subjects, English, Mathematics, Science, and Filipino, through engaging activities that deepened foundational knowledge and fostered critical thinking. Meanwhile, the non-academic strand provided enriching opportunities in singing, dancing, and visual arts, nurturing the holistic development of each child.
The program aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, as it ensured that learners continued to access inclusive, equitable, and stimulating learning experiences even during the break. Through interactive lessons and performance-based tasks, learners developed competencies that reinforce what they learned during the school year while exploring new ways of expressing their ideas and talents.
Incorporating SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, the non-academic sessions in dancing and performing arts encouraged movement, creativity, and teamwork—highlighting the importance of physical activity and emotional well-being. Art sessions, on the other hand, created safe spaces for self-expression and mindfulness.
The culminating activity featured performances and exhibits that showcased the outputs of both academic and non-academic classes. Parents, teachers, and guests gathered at the UBLES Quadrangle to witness the children’s growth and development over the five-day program. From math problem-solving demonstrations and Filipino storytelling to colorful artworks and lively dances, the event was a celebration of talent, hard work, and meaningful learning.
The Summer Enhancement Program 2025 is part of UBLES’ commitment to fostering lifelong learners who are academically competent, artistically inclined, and socially responsible. By integrating the SDGs into local educational programs, UBLES reinforces its mission of forming learners who will one day become globally aware and community-rooted citizens.
As the program closes, UBLES extends its congratulations to all learners and heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated faculty members and parents who made this summer journey a success. The school looks forward to continuing its efforts toward sustainable, inclusive, and transformative education.
