The School of Business Administration and Accountancy (SBAA) kicked off the academic year with its General Assembly 2025 on September 5, 2025, at the UB Cardinals Gymnasium. The event gathered students, faculty, staff, and organizations for a day of unity, fun, and inspiration. The main goal was to officially welcome students to the new school year, strengthen bonds among everyone involved, and showcase the various student organizations under SBAA, including the Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX).

With vibrant colors and enthusiastic participation, UB-JFINEX proudly represented the Financial Management program. They promoted values like teamwork, identity, and leadership. The assembly also provided a chance to introduce the new JFINEX officers. This gave students, especially first-year Financial Management majors, an opportunity to meet their leaders. These leaders will guide them in upcoming programs, activities, and financial literacy initiatives.

The General Assembly was also a special time for JFINEX as its new officers were introduced to the entire SBAA community. It was particularly important to first-year students, as it provided them with the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the official JFINEX leaders who would be leading them over the course of the year through different financial literacy programs, projects, and events.

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, the SBAA General Assembly encouraged inclusive and fair learning by promoting student involvement and leadership. By introducing new officers and highlighting financial literacy efforts, JFINEX helps build a knowledgeable and united learning community. This lays the groundwork for lifelong learning and reflects UB’s dedication to quality education.

UB-JFINEX also proudly took this opportunity to showcase and sell the official Financial Management ID lanyards. This initiative allows Financial Management students to be easily recognized through their lanyards, fostering a sense of identity, belonging, and unity within the program.

The impact of this event reaches beyond the assembly itself. Students quickly built connections, learned about their organization’s role, and felt pride in their field. Over time, strong student leadership and identity-building activities will ensure a collaborative academic environment that encourages growth, partnership, and excellence.

As the SBAA General Assembly came to a close, JFINEX showed its commitment to both the Financial Management program and the UB community. They are ready to embrace the school year ahead with renewed energy and purpose. Together with the SBAA, JFINEX looks forward to pursuing not only its own goals but also the larger mission of sustainable and inclusive education.
