In a proud celebration of continuous improvement and educational excellence, the University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School (UBLES) recently hosted a benchmarking meeting with St. Mary’s Academy of Pasay City, marking a significant milestone following University of Baguio’s successful attainment of ISO certification.
Held on September 2, 2025, the benchmarking session provided a valuable opportunity for collaboration and knowledge sharing, focusing on the ISO certification process of the Kindergarten department. Six esteemed representatives from St. Mary’s Academy visited the campus, led by their Directress S. Ma. Salvacion R. Borjal, RVM and Ms. Leonora C. Rubio, the school’s EOMR. Their visit highlighted both institutions’ mutual dedication to upholding the highest educational quality standards.
This falls under SDG 4: Quality Education, which promotes inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among institutions to strengthen the implementation of sustainable development.
The event began with a warm welcome from UBLES, followed by a guided tour of the school’s facilities and classroom visits in the Kindergarten department. This was succeeded by in-depth discussions highlighting the department’s journey towards ISO certification. Key quality management practices, documentation processes, internal audit strategies, and continual improvement initiatives were shared in detail.
Both schools engaged in an open dialogue about best practices, challenges encountered, and the strategies that contributed to successful certification.
As the University of Baguio continues its post-certification journey, the institution remains committed to sustaining the quality standards it has achieved, while strengthening partnerships with fellow academic institutions striving for the same excellence.
