The School of Business Administration and Accountancy (SBAA) transformed into a vibrant disco haven on October 3, 2024, for their annual SBAA Day and Night. The stage was set for a celebration of talent and camaraderie, as executives from various student organizations prepared to unleash their hidden vocal talents and comedic flair. The day unfolded as a whirlwind of musical performances, laughter, and spirited competition, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who participated. The morning event was kicked off in style by the Fusion 12, first runner-up of the folk dance competition, who set the tone with a jazzy, dazzling disco intermission number. The energy was electric, and the anticipation for the day’s events was palpable. The morning portion of the event centered around a vocal competition, with each student organization sending their best to battle it out in categories like Vocal Solo, Vocal Duet Battle of the Bands, and Lip-Sync Impersonation. The theme “Disco” permeated every performance, infusing the air with a pulsating energy that had everyone tapping their feet.

The vocal solo competition highlighted exceptional talent, with Gwyneth May R. Payang of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) securing a well-deserved victory. Shyrille Mharie Comilang from Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX) secured the first runner-up position, while Angelika Ferrer from the Junior Association of Marketing Executives (JAME) claimed the second runner-up spot. In the vocal duet category, Carlo Jay Magsilang and Shyrille Mharie Comilang from Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX) emerged as winners. Jevee Elegado and Jim Zara Valenzuela from Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) secured first runner-up, and Eloisa Brillantes and Keziah Balabag from the Junior Executive Circle (JEC) took home the second runner-up title. The Battle of the Bands brought together a remarkable ensemble of seven gifted musicians from various SBAA majors—Gwyneth May R. Payang, Al Vincent T. Medriano, Lanz Emilio Gawe, Carlo Jay Magsilang, Jeshuah Leigh Juan, Mildred Arisga, and Joshua Roberto. Their dynamic performance secured them a resounding victory. Finally, Rylan Yanni Barbieto Luna, representing the Organization of Freshmen Executives (OFE), captivated the audience with their performance in the Lip-Sync Impersonation competition, claiming the ultimate title.

As the morning competitions concluded, the festivities shifted into high gear. Executives came together, sharing the joy and excitement of the day, and reveling in the success of their peers. SBAA Day and Night wasn’t just about winning or losing. It was about showcasing the incredible talent within the department, fostering a sense of camaraderie and pride, and reminding everyone of the vibrant and supportive environment within the School of Business Administration and Accountancy (SBAA). It was an unforgettable celebration, leaving lasting memories for all who participated.

This event aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, as having them participate in this event to broaden their skills and talents, and SDG 5: Gender Equality, as all the students were given the chance to participate.
