Strengthening Community Partnerships Through Service

The University of Baguio has once again demonstrated its unwavering dedication to humanitarian service by being honored as a Top 2 Hall of Fame Awardee during the Blood Donor’s Recognition Day at the SM Baguio Atrium on September 12, 2025. The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) – Baguio Chapter organized the event under the theme “Give blood, give hope: Together we save lives”. Organizations and allies that continued to advocate for humanitarian initiatives and volunteerism were honored at the event.

This acknowledgement is a celebration of UB’s ongoing collaboration with the PRC – Baguio City Chapter and its constituents involvement in blood donation campaigns. Mr. Ruben V. Nuarin Jr., the SNS ECOS Coordinator, accepted the honor on behalf of the university. The plaque of recognition was presented by Atty. Carlos M. Canilao, Chairman of the PRC – Baguio Chapter, in the presence of the PRC – Baguio Chapter Board of Directors, Baguio City Mayor Hon. Benjamin Magalong, and other distinguished guests.

A Legacy of Service

For many years, UB has been an active supporter of the PRC advocacy by participating in blood donation campaigns and other health services. UB’s vision of fostering globally competent graduates who are socially responsible and community-oriented is profoundly ingrained in these initiatives. Each blood bag collected is more than merely a medical resource. It serves as a representation of optimism and solidarity for those who are in need.

UB’s Commitment to SDGs

The award is a testament to UB’s dedication to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, which is demonstrated through its ongoing support of blood donation drives. In addition, this acknowledgement underscores UB’s commitment to SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals, which involves collaborating with the PRC – Baguio Chapter, local government, and other stakeholders to establish inclusive and resilient communities.
