“We hope you are ready and confident to respond in times of emergency,” were the inspiring words shared by the trainers during the finale of the Basic Life Support (BLS) and Standard First Aid Training (SFAT) held on March 24–25, 2026 at Camp John Hay Hotel for the 3rd batch of newly hired employees.

The two-day training was facilitated by the dedicated faculty and alumni of the University of Baguio School of Nursing under the S.A.L.U.N.-A.T. Initiative, in collaboration with SON ECOS.

This program underscores the vital role of BLS and SFAT in empowering individuals to act swiftly and effectively during critical situations. These skills are not only essential in saving lives but also in fostering a culture of preparedness and responsibility within the workplace and the community. By equipping employees with the knowledge and confidence to respond to emergencies, the training ensures that safety becomes a shared commitment where every second counts and every action can make a difference. This initiative not only equips employees with life-saving skills but also reinforces the organization’s commitment to global development priorities.

By strengthening emergency response capacity, the program advances SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being; by fostering structured learning, it supports SDG 4: Quality Education; by ensuring safer workplaces, it contributes to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth; and by building resilient communities, it aligns with SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. Through Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid Training, the organization demonstrates that investing in people’s preparedness is an investment in sustainable development where health, safety, and resilience form the foundation of a thriving future.
