FIBA Women’s World Cup Pre-Qualifiers Train at University of Baguio

The Fiba Women’s world cup pre qualifiers visited the University of Baguio & held their training camp at the University of Baguio Cardinals Gymnasium before flying to Kigsli, Rwanda Africa. Their coaching team was led by UB Alumni, former lady Cardinals player & Coach, Ms. Hazel Yambot From Aug 6-10,2024.

Last August 6,2024 they had a tune up game with the CCDC Men’s team at the UB Cardinal’s Gym & they really showed us why they were representing the country- they were fast, & can truly go head to head with the men, they led the game for the first 3 quarters, leading by 10-12 points but on the last quarter, the CCDC admirals finally caught up & won 85-79.

August 8,2024 the ladies had another tune up game with the UB Cardinals men at the UB Cardinals gym. With the UB Cardinals men winning 75 to 49. Before the game they had a courtesy call with the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Zorba Bnn R. Bautista together with the University President, Engr. Javier Herminio D. Bautista, Vice President for Finance, Mr. Johann Ben A. Bautista alongside the UB Corporate Secretary, Mr. Christian Anthony C. Bautista & NTN Board of Director & SBP Regional Director Reynaldo A. Bautista Jr. They handed out UB Merchandise as tokens of appreciation for the GILAS team’s visit to the University of Baguio. August 10, they had another game with the Berkeley basketball team at the UB Cardinals Gym winning them over at 83-72. – Angel Bernardo

SEAlympics 2025: UB Engineering & Architecture Students Unite in Fun and Sportsmanship

The SEAlympics 2025 at the University of Baguio brought together over 2,200 students and faculty members in a day filled with sports, traditional games, and camaraderie. Held at the Centennial Building’s 2nd Basement, the event aimed to promote teamwork and student engagement beyond academics. Participants enjoyed various activities, from Larong Pinoy games like Chinese Garter and Tic Tac Toe x Flip the Bottle to competitive basketball and volleyball matches.

With an electric atmosphere and enthusiastic participation, the event successfully strengthened the UBian spirit. Organizers are already planning improvements for the next SEAlympics, ensuring an even more exciting experience in the years to come.
