“Journeying with Purpose: Empowering Learners Through Inclusion and Global Teaching Experiences” Webinar on Inclusive and Global Teaching

A meaningful and inspiring webinar titled “Journeying with Purpose: Empowering Learners Through Inclusion and Global Teaching Experiences” was successfully conducted on November 8, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM via Google Meet. The activity brought together Pre-service Teachers from the Elementary and Secondary Education Programs of the School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA) who eagerly participated in the online learning event.

Mr. Renzo Baclayon, the resource speaker was an ETEEAP student of the University of Baguio under the Bachelor of Elementary Education program. Currently, he is making a remarkable impact internationally as a Trained Learning Assistant in New Zealand and a Teacher Aide in Queensland, Australia. In addition, he is a Special Education practicum student, further strengthening his commitment to inclusive education.

Through his engaging presentation, the speaker shared his personal journey and professional experiences in teaching across diverse learning environments. He highlighted the importance of inclusion, cultural awareness, and adaptability in addressing the varied needs of learners. His insights on global teaching practices provided the pre-service teachers with valuable perspectives on how to empower learners and embrace diversity in their future classrooms. This is one of the avenues how to address Sustainable Development Goal #4 which is on quality Education. As future educators, having these kinds of exposure will definitely help them become more responsible who always aspire for quality.

The session encouraged reflection on the evolving role of educators in promoting inclusive education and global competence. Participants expressed appreciation for the speaker’s inspiring message, including some clarification and queries which underscored the value of purpose-driven teaching and the transformative power of inclusive learning experiences. Through this webinar, it is an evidence that learning is everywhere and not compartmentalized in the four walls of the classroom.

Indeed, the webinar served as a meaningful platform for aspiring educators to broaden their horizons, reinforcing their commitment to become compassionate, globally minded, and inclusive teachers of the future.
