CEBU CITY, Philippines—May 16, 2025—MAPEH teachers from the University of Baguio- Laboratory Elementary School broadened their professional engagement this week by taking part in the 2025 International Physical Education Convention (IPEC), hosted by 1PhysEd.Ph Training and Development Services at the University of San Jose—Recoletos.
Staged from May 14-16 with the theme “Championing Change: High-Impact PE, Health, Sports, Dance, and Research for Global Excellence,” the convention drew more than six hundred educators, coaches, researchers, and administrators from across the Philippines and other Asian nations converged to delve into the emerging trends, evidence-based practices in physical education, health, recreation, sports, dance, and fitness. The 2025 IPEC provides a unique opportunity to share knowledge, experiences new sports, and connect and build networks with fellow educators and experts.
The opening program featured vibrant performances by local Cebuano performing arts groups followed by an inspiring keynote address and a dynamic roundtable discussion led by leading experts in the field. Day 1 and 2 Breakout sessions feature research presentations and hands-on workshops highlighting their innovations and discoveries in recreation, dance, sports, and fitness technology experience (REDASFITTEX). The convention concluded with advanced workshops that granted participants to earn certifications, cap off with cultural performances and giving of certificates.
Through its active participation, the University of Baguio and its pursuit to achieve the SDG 4: Quality Education, this reaffirms continuous support on faculty development programs, and upholds its commitment to academic excellence and holistic wellness.
