The University of Baguio High School (UBHS) once again opened its doors to joy, creativity, and unity during the celebration of its much-awaited High School Day 2025, held at the University of Baguio Cardinals Gym last October 24, 2025. With the theme “Nurturing Talents, Celebrating Creativity, and Sustaining Life on Land,” this year’s event drew inspiration from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15: Life on Land, reinforcing the UBian commitment to environmental stewardship and holistic student development.
High School Day 2025: A Celebration of Talent and Unity
With nearly 2,500 attendees—including students, faculty members, staff, parents, and guests—the event transformed the gym into a dynamic showcase of artistry, innovation, and school spirit. The celebration embodied the essence of the UBHS educational philosophy: developing well-rounded learners who not only excel academically but also demonstrate environmental consciousness, creativity, and compassion.

Throughout the day, the program overflowed with vibrant performances and meaningful competitions that reflected the theme of sustainability and self-expression. The UB Highdol segment brought out the school’s most talented vocalists and bands, whose powerful performances captivated the audience and demonstrated the depth of musical talent within the UBHS community. The event also featured dance competitions, which enlivened the atmosphere with rhythm, movement, and passion, further showcasing the students’ energy and enthusiasm.

Highlights: Creativity and Advocacy in Action
Adding color and creativity to the celebration were the banner-making, chalk art, photography, and advocacy campaign competitions, which served as platforms for students to express their understanding of environmental preservation and sustainability. These activities highlighted not only artistic ability but also awareness of ecological issues and the importance of collective responsibility in protecting the planet. Each artwork and campaign reflected the students’ growing consciousness of their role as stewards of life on land.

High School Day 2025 Pageant: Leadership and Purpose on Stage
One of the most anticipated segments of the celebration was the Search for Mr. and Ms. University of Baguio High School 2025. Beyond beauty and poise, contestants showcased intelligence, confidence, and purpose as they spoke passionately about their chosen advocacies aligned with SDG 15. Their responses underscored the idea that leadership and advocacy go hand in hand with compassion, intellect, and responsibility. The pageant became a meaningful platform for student voices advocating for sustainability and social awareness.
Achievements: Recognizing Excellence and Participation
In total, about 1,000 winners were recognized across various categories, representing excellence in academic, artistic, and performance-based events. The remarkable number of awardees reflected the active participation, dedication, and diverse skills of UBHS students. Each recognition symbolized the collective achievement of the UBHS community—students, teachers, and staff—working together toward shared goals of learning, creativity, and sustainable living.
High School Day 2025: Expression of Education Beyond the Classroom
Beyond the competitions and festivities, UBHS High School Day 2025 stood as a living expression of experiential learning. It emphasized that education is not confined to the four walls of a classroom but extends into real-world application through art, performance, and community engagement. By integrating the principles of SDG 15 (Life on Land) into its activities, the celebration encouraged environmental awareness among students and promoted sustainable practices in creative and meaningful ways.
Moreover, the event highlighted UBHS’s continuous efforts to nurture responsible and forward-thinking learners. Through initiatives like High School Day, the University of Baguio demonstrates its dedication to innovation in education, community involvement, and sustainability—values that empower students to make lasting, positive impacts in their communities and beyond.
High School Day 2025: A Beacon of Creativity and Compassion
As the day concluded, the gym resonated with cheers, music, and laughter—a joyful reflection of unity and pride. Teachers and administrators expressed deep satisfaction in witnessing their students demonstrate excellence in talent and empathy in purpose. Parents and guests shared in the moment, recognizing how UBHS continues to empower young individuals to grow as socially responsible and environmentally conscious citizens.
Indeed, the University of Baguio High School Day 2025 was more than a celebration—it was a reaffirmation of the school’s enduring values and its dedication to the Sustainable Development Goals. It stood as a testament to UBHS’s holistic approach to education, where talents are nurtured, creativity is celebrated, and life on land is sustained.
