The Pages of Progress: Brgy. Lucnab’s Learning Program, an 8-week literacy and numeracy initiative with 15 days of activities, was launched on September 11–12, 2025, through a partnership between the University of Baguio’s School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA), Barangay Lucnab, Lindawan Elementary School, and Lindawan National High School. The main purpose is to enhance reading and mathematical skills among 29 learners (13 Grades 1–2 pupils and 16 Grades 7–8 students) from marginalized communities, fostering academic confidence and equitable opportunities.

This program supports SDG 4: Quality Education by providing inclusive and equitable learning opportunities and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by addressing educational disparities. STELA contributes 30 volunteers, including 13 BEED practice teachers, 10 BSED practice teachers, 7 BAEL students, faculty members, program chairs, and an outreach coordinator, who conduct assessments and learning activities. Barangay Lucnab, led by a barangay kagawad and the Sangguniang Kabataan chairman, provides community support and coordination. Lindawan Elementary School and Lindawan National High School, with their principals and assigned teachers, facilitate program implementation by hosting activities and assisting volunteers. This collaborative effort ensures sustainable educational impact through shared responsibility.

The Pages of Progress: Brgy. Lucnab’s Learning Program delivers immediate improvements in learners’ reading and numeracy skills through targeted pre-assessments and tailored interventions, starting September 11–12, 2025, and continuing across 15 days over 8 weeks until the final day of the program. These regular sessions will promote steady progress, enhancing academic mastery and boosting students’ self-esteem. For STELA volunteers, participation over the 15 days will strengthens instructional skills and deepens their commitment to service-oriented education.

Long-term, the initiative builds robust academic foundations, encourages lifelong learning, and promotes equitable community development, aligning with UB’s mission to nurture future-ready educators and empowered learners
