University of Baguio – School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts proudly participated in the College Intramurals held on the 2nd of October 2025.

The annual University of
Baguio Intramurals once
again brought together all
schools for competition,
camaraderie, and school
pride. The event carried the
theme “Ancient Asian
Empires,” where each school
represented a different
civilization.

Under one banner, Uniting students from various departments – STELA represented the “Persian Achaemenid Empire”, a concept vividly portrayed through carefully designed costumes, bold makeup, and well-crafted props showcased by both the mascot and the cheerers.

To familiarize the team with the
choreography, lyrics, and music—and
to perfect their performance—STELA
held rigorous practices from September
25 to October 1. The team dedicated
their time and energy to mastering each
step, every roar, and beat. Their hard
work and unity paid off, earning them
two (2) major awards: “Best in Cheering
Routine” and the coveted “Overall Best
Cheering Team.”

In line with the United Nations
Sustainable Development Goals
(SDG), STELA’s participation reflected
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being
and SDG 12: Responsible
Consumption and Production.

The cheering team embodied inclusivity and unity as they brought together students from different programs under one banner, fostering a strong sense of belonging and school spirit. Also, an activity fostering good health. Encourages students to stay active instead of being sedentary. Improving fitness, stamina, and strength. Additionally, the materials used for their costumes and props were carefully chosen and repurposed. This showed STELA’s commitment to creativity that is both expressive and environmentally friendly. By doing this, the team not only celebrated excellence but also promoted sustainability and responsibility in every step of their performance.

Beyond the competition, the event highlighted the importance of teamwork,  creativity, and school pride. The STELArs not only performed with skill and artistry but also with heart— proving once again that through unity and passion, they can conquer any challenge, any battle. No matter the odds, STELA bleeds orange and blue— a true testament to excellence and spirit within the University of Baguio.
