The University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School (UBLES) welcomed a delegation of Math and Science subject coordinators and teachers from Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) for a benchmarking activity held on April 26, 2025. The visit served as an opportunity to share educational practices, foster collaboration, and explore innovations in teaching methodologies in Math and Science.

The visitors were welcomed by the University of Baguio Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Janice Kaylyn K. Lonogan. The visiting team from AdZU observed UBLES’ facilities, resources, teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, and integration of technology in learning. They engaged in open discussions with UBLES educators and administrators, focusing on how both institutions can continually raise the standard of academic excellence.

UBLES teachers showcased several of their classroom programs and student activities that highlight active learning, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary approaches. Tours and walkthroughs in both Science laboratories and Math learning corners were part of the immersive experience.

In a short program organized by UBLES, both schools shared insights on curriculum development, student engagement, and the role of research in shaping modern classroom instruction. The event concluded with a commitment to sustain the dialogue and continue learning from each other through future partnerships and collaborations.

The benchmarking visit not only strengthened professional ties between the two schools, but also inspired both institutions to remain steadfast in their mission of delivering Quality Education (SDG 4) to students in the region.
