The University of Baguio is committed to fulfilling its role in the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3), which aspires to ensure health and well-being for all. In pursuit of this goal, the Allied Medical Sciences programs have forged collaborations with local, national, and international health institutions to offer medical services to the community.
Bloodletting activities were conducted through Dugong UB, with 226 whole blood units being collected across three blood donation drives and more than six hundred lives being impacted through the donation drives.
Programs promoting oral health were also held by the Allied Medical Sciences, enhancing the awareness of the community on oral health through lectures and demonstrations on oral hygiene measures, proper diet and nutrition, and primary preventive services.
In support of promoting physical fitness, the UB Cardinals Gym is readily available to hold sports- and health-related activities. The UB campus as a whole has also strictly enforced a No Smoking policy to keep the university smoke-free for the health of the students, faculty, and non-teaching staff.
Information drives and seminars also sought to keep students, faculty, employees, and staff informed and up to date on sex and reproductive health, family planning, and the promotion of good mental health.
The outreach programs and projects in the community continue to promote health and well-being, encouraging the members of the community to maintain their health, live a balanced lifestyle, and be knowledgeable on matters related to their overall wellness.
