UB JPIA Takes Root for Tomorrow: Empowering Green Action Through PICPATANIM

Other Posts

On July 20, 2024, the University of Baguio – Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (UBJPIA) proudly took part in PICPATANIM, a tree planting initiative held at the Melvin Jones Grandstand in Baguio City. Organized by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), in partnership with various organizations, the event brought together the accounting community in a shared commitment to environmental preservation and sustainability.

Among the participating organizations were the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Commerce and Industry (ACPACI), Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (ACPAPP), City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO Baguio), Government Association of Certified Public Accountants (GACPA), Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), and National Association of Certified Public Accountants in Education (NACPAE).

The PICPATANIM served as more than just a community outreach — it was a hands-on contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 13: Climate Action and Goal 15: Life on Land. By planting trees, participants made their community greener and encouraged others to care for the environment. UB-JPIA’s participation not only demonstrated its members’ environmental consciousness but also reflected their evolving role as future professionals who value sustainability and community responsibility. This initiative reaffirms UBJPIA’s ongoing commitment to making a difference beyond the classroom — one tree at a time.
