Nine girls of the UB High School Girl Scouts of the Philippines recently embarked on an unforgettable adventure at the 2025 Regional Camp held at Camp Melchor F. Dela Cruz in Gamu, Isabela. They were guided and accompanied by their GSP Club Adviser and Tita, Maricris J. Gabriel. This four-day camp brought together young leaders from across the region to engage in military-inspired activities, thought-provoking discussions, and explorations that aimed to strengthen their skills, awareness, and entrepreneurial spirit. Additionally, the event emphasized SDG #4: Quality Education, SDG #16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and SDG #17: Partnerships for the Goals.

True to the spirit of preparedness and discipline, the camp featured military-inspired activities designed to enhance the scouts’ leadership, teamwork, and resilience. Under the guidance of trained personnel, participants engaged in drills, survival training, and obstacle courses that tested their endurance and problem-solving abilities. These activities instilled in the scouts a sense of discipline and responsibility that are essential traits for future leaders.

One of the highlights of the camp was an open discussion on the West Philippine Sea, a timely and relevant topic that sparked meaningful conversations among the scouts. Experts and guest speakers provided insights on maritime rights, national sovereignty, and the role of young leaders in advocating for the country’s interests. This session empowered the girl scouts to become more aware and engaged citizens, ready to contribute to national discourse.

Adventure awaited the girl scouts as they embarked on an exploration at Mt. Claramuel. This trek provided them with an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of nature while learning essential survival and navigation skills. Additionally, a visit to Sky Park allowed them to experience breathtaking views and thrilling outdoor activities, further enhancing their love for the environment and adventure.

The 2025 Regional Camp was more than just an outdoor gathering—it was a transformative experience that equipped the UB High School Girl Scouts with valuable skills, knowledge, and memories. From military-inspired training to environmental explorations and civic discussions, the event left a lasting impact on every participant. As they returned home, these young scouts carried with them not just new friendships but also a stronger sense of leadership, awareness, and preparedness for the future.
