Young journalists from University of Baguio Elementary School (UBLES) secured major victories at the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held on February 14-15, clinching championship titles in both the English and Filipino broadcasting categories.

Young journalists from University of Baguio Elementary School (UBLES) secured major victories at the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held on February 14-15, clinching championship titles in both the English and Filipino broadcasting categories.

The Gazetteer and Omalahokan Broadcasting Teams secured the championship titles in their respective categories. The Gazetteer team consists of Keane Jethro B. Amiten, Dean Dreigh Krayon Y. Tamayo, Daniel Jozef V. Cabatcan, Ritz Antonov M. Magpatoc, Gabryelle Alexie B. Martin, Zea Geraldine W. Guibac, and Keith Everdee M. Mabanta. Meanwhile, the Omalahokan team includes Maximus L. Sta. Maria, Heiss Izek C. Simono, Kylie Rafaelle D. Madayag, Aiah Y. Tobias, Maxine Yzzabel D. Wee, Elijah Rae D. Ramos, and Ian Jace C. Botis.

In addition to their broadcasting success, UBLES writers captured multiple individual awards. Jllyn M. Salvino secured 1st place in Column Writing, Alyna Yves T. Bayawa earned 1st place in Science and Technology Writing, Reienne Mirage A. Yra clinched 1st place in News Writing, and Ryu Matthew Dale T. Casis grabbed 1st place in Editorial Cartooning. Lailah Beatrice P. Tan landed 2nd place in Feature Writing, further strengthening the school’s remarkable performance.

Following their victories, UBLES journalists together with their advisers, Cristina Dea Y. Tamayo, Yoko A. Macario and Jervay  A. Cawalo , are gearing up for the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC), which will take place in April at Mt. Province. The UBLES community celebrates their young journalists’ achievements and continues to support them as they advance to the regional competition.
