In a heartwarming display of support and care, the School of Business Administration and Accountancy (SBAA) conducted Board Operations to encourage the Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (LECPA) takers last September 30 to October 2, 2023.

The Board Operations were meticulously organized into two dedicated teams in the two testing sites – Benguet State University in La Trinidad and Teacher’s Camp Village in Baguio City. Both teams were comprised of enthusiastic Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) officers, all driven by a shared commitment to supporting LECPA takers. JPIA Advisers Mr. John Balanquit and Mr. Franklin Wayang also played integral roles in orchestrating this noble endeavor. Mr. Candido Perez, the chairman of the Accountancy Program, and the beloved Dean, Dr. Kareen Leon, and Accounting teacher Mr. Jeffreyson Pakias were also present, providing their unwavering support to this thoughtful initiative.

These dedicated teams united their efforts to ensure that examinees in both locations received the encouragement they needed to hurdle their exams. This remarkable act of solidarity within the SBAA accounting community resonated deeply with both the LECPA takers and the wider academic community.

This initiative was a testament to the commitment of the academic community to the success and well-being of its students. It also served as a reminder that success is not just about individual achievement but also about the collective effort to uplift and support others.

The Board Operations activity is a shining example of the compassion and solidarity that define the accounting community. The LECPA is a challenging exam, but with the support of the accounting community, LECPA takers can feel confident that they have the best chance to succeed.

The heartwarming support for the examinees embodies the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) in various ways. it contributes to quality education (SDG 4) by ensuring that the LECPA takers and the Accountancy student leaders have access to the resources they need. it also promotes good health and well-being (SDG 3) by providing financial and emotional support to the UB examinees. it’s a testament to the spirit of compassion and solidarity within the UB accounting community. The University of Baguio’s Vision, Mission, Objectives, and Core Values truly came to life as the UB participants underscored the institution’s unwavering dedication to nurturing not just academic excellence but also a sense of social responsibility among its Accountancy students and mentors.
