University of Baguio Honored as One of the Leading JPIA Chapters in Region 1 and CAR

The convention concluded on June 15, 2025, with the Year-End Awards 2025, organized by the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – Region 1 and CAR. With the theme “The Phoenix Gala: The Year-End Flame of Triumph and Excellence,” the event celebrated the exceptional efforts and leadership of JPIAns during the 2024–2025 federation year. The University of Baguio once again led the region in excellence—earning the majority of the awards and reaffirming its legacy of leadership, impact, and distinction.

Fritzel Diale was named the Most Outstanding Local Chapter Executive Officer in the entire Region 1 and CAR, while Glory Ann Llamas, UB JPIA President, was honored as the Most Outstanding Local Chapter President. Their success reflects not only personal leadership but the collective vision and collaboration of the chapter, aligned with SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. Furthermore, Carren Moira Cheong, CPA, MBA, was hailed as the Most Outstanding Local Chapter Adviser for her consistent guidance, discipline, and pursuit of high-quality outputs, ensuring the local chapter’s continued growth and impact.

The University of Baguio also received recognition as the Most Compliant Local Chapter in Membership, the Largest Delegation in Webinars, and the Most Active Local Chapter in all of Region 1 and CAR. These recognitions speak volumes about the organizational culture that fosters student participation, leadership, and development—principles embedded in SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as UB continues to work alongside other institutions for the advancement of accountancy education.

With back-to-back victories and a continued commitment to developing skilled, ethical, and dedicated professionals, the JPIA – University of Baguio Chapter once again proved that it is more than just a student organization. It is a community that lights the path toward a future built on education, service, and sustainable impact. Truly, UB-JPIA carries the eternal ember—burning with passion, glowing with excellence, and leaving a legacy that continues to inspire generations of future accountants.
