University of Baguio Reaches Out to 70 DepEd Baguio Schools

Department of Education – Baguio Division’s School Governance Operation Division (SGOD) Youth Formation (YF) recently organized a seminar-workshop on Up-skilling and Re-skilling of 70 Supreme Pupil/Student Government Advisers.

Advance Productivity Tools for Empowered and Modernized Leadership

The seminar-workshop, which ran for two Saturdays from April to May 2023, was hosted at the University of Baguio (UB) and was organized in coordination with the UB Research and Development Center – Extension and Community Outreach Services (RDC-ECOS) in partnership with the School of Information Technology.

The seminar-workshop aimed to equip the 70 Supreme Pupil/Student Government Advisers with skills that would enhance their leadership and promote modernization. Through the informative sessions, the participants were taught how to create infographics and design lesson presentations with multimedia content through the use of Canva. They were also trained in creating reports, such as class records, with a spreadsheet application using Excel.

The event was facilitated by a team of highly qualified speakers and facilitators, who are members of the faculty, staff, and students, from different schools and offices of the University of Baguio.

The participants were able to learn from the best and enhance their productivity skills. The seminar and workshop offered an extraordinary opportunity for the participants to upgrade their skills in this era of modernization. Adapting to the modern world is no longer a choice but a necessity and organizers made sure that the participants were given the necessary knowledge and resources to thrive in the digital age. Overall, the event received a positive response from the participants and organizers alike. They considered the seminar-workshop to be a valuable experience that will enhance their leadership qualities and contribute to their personal and professional growth.
