𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆, 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀

On April 30, 2024, the University of Baguio’s RCB Dome was transformed into a unique and privileged staging ground for an intensive “𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒔 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒚: 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒍𝒚, 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒍𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑭𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒘 𝑬𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒄𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒔”. This outcome-based event, meticulously organized by the esteemed School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety, was exclusively designed for students enrolled in the Fundamentals of Marksmanship under Ms. Cora Murphy Dogui-is, including Criminology and Forensic Science majors, offering them a rare opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in this crucial area.

The session was led by a team of dedicated and highly experienced officers from the esteemed 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒄𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏 (𝑹𝑴𝑭𝑩15), who guided the students through hands-on training in the crucial skills of firearm assembly, disassembly, and marksmanship. This training, which emphasized the serious responsibility of handling firearms, aimed to instill a profound understanding of weapon safety and proficiency among these future law enforcement professionals, inspiring confidence and respect in their mentors.

The event was marked by a powerful message delivered by PCPT. Junnifer Paggui, who underscored the gravity of firearm handling. He declared, “𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘫𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘴. 𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺.” The officers from RMFB15, known for their patience and expertise, ensured that the students not only learned the technical skills but also the ethical considerations necessary for handling weapons.

This training was not just a one-time event, but a transformative and crucial step in preparing these young professionals for the real-world challenges they will face in law enforcement. It underscored the critical importance of discipline, respect, and precision in their future careers, setting them on a path to success and instilling a sense of hope and motivation for their future roles.
