The University of Baguio continues its longstanding tradition of honoring and supporting its workforce through the annual Year-End Rice and Grocery Allocation just before the holidays. This meaningful initiative reflects UB’s deeply rooted culture of being a family-oriented institution – one that values not just its employees, but also the families behind them.

This year, a total of 471 teaching personnel, 257 non-teaching personnel, and 35 members of the management team received their respective grocery packs and cavan of rice. In recognition of their commitment and contributions, 21 cavans were also allocated for UB coaches and employees, ensuring that every hardworking member of the UB community is included. Upholding tradition, the university likewise extended this privilege to 152 retired employees, honoring their years of service and reinforcing UB’s enduring care for its retirees.

Spreading holiday cheer through sustainable support

This annual tradition also supports the global call for sustainable development, specifically SDG 1: No Poverty and SDG 2: Zero Hunger. Through this initiative, the University of Baguio helps alleviate the financial burden on employees, promotes food security, and reinforces equitable access to basic necessities for all members of its community.

Three decades later, this legacy continues to thrive. The Year-End Rice and Grocery Allocation stands as a testament to UB’s commitment to gratitude, tradition, sustainability, and genuine care for its people – past and present.
