No Plastic Bag, No Styrofoam within the University of Baguio

The University of Baguio supports Administrative Order 045 Series of 2018,
entitled “RULES AND REGULATIONS IMPLEMENTING THE PROVISIONS OF CITY
ORDINANCE NUMBERED 35, SERIES OF 2017, Regulating the sale, distribution and
use of plastic carry or shopping bags and Styrofoam in the City of Baguio and providing
penalties for violations thereof”.

In lieu of this, the Campus Planning and Development Office (CPDO) came up
with a Memorandum as of May 8, 2018, ‘NO PLASTIC BAG, NO STYROFOAM WITHIN THE
UNIVERSITY”. Thus, together with the Security Office, this Memorandum has been strictly
implemented since May 14, 2018 up to the present. The property office sells student uniforms, books, and merchandise, it is mandated that clients bring their own eco-bags as they purchase their items.

As allies in the quest for a greener and safer environment within the University,
everyone is encouraged to support the city in minimizing its carbon footprint and
striving for a zero-waste community.
