The 2026 Scout Council Jamboree was successfully held from March 5 to 8, 2026 at Farmville Campsite and Resort, Barangay Sta. Cecilia, Aringay, La Union. The four-day event gathered 219 scouts and 41 scout leaders from elementary and high school, providing young participants with opportunities to strengthen their skills, leadership, and sense of responsibility through meaningful scouting activities.

Among the participants were nine scouts from the University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School (UBLES) who actively took part in the various activities and challenges prepared for the jamboree. The UBLES delegates included Sct. Ian Jace Botis, Sct. Marion Antonio Magpatoc, Sct. Edward Joaquin Nacar, Sct. Jamir Agustin, Sct. Jacob Damien Jimenez, Sct. Renniel Razon, Sct. Zadkiel Noe Feliciano, Sct. Prince Ellyzer Tamsi, and Sct. Arlan Ernest Ariston. Their participation highlighted the school’s continued commitment to developing responsible and capable young scouts. The council jamboree served as a self-motivated platform for scouts to practice teamwork, resilience, and service while experiencing the values and traditions of the Scouting movement.

Objectives

The jamboree aimed to transform young people into capable and responsible individuals, help them develop practical skills for everyday life and emergency situations, and empower them to serve their communities with discipline and integrity.

Through the Scout Method, the activity sought to cultivate patriotism, civic consciousness, self-reliance, discipline, and other kindred virtues among participating scouts.

Connection to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The activities conducted during the jamboree supported several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, through outdoor physical activities, hiking, and safety training that promote physical fitness and well-being.
  • SDG 4: Quality Education, by providing experiential learning opportunities that develop practical life skills and leadership among youth
  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, through activities that encourage environmental awareness, civic responsibility, and community engagement.
  • SDG 13: Climate Action, through the tree planting activity, promoting environmental conservation and ecological responsibility.

Through these initiatives, the Scouting program continues to transform, help, and empower young learners to become responsible citizens and active contributors to society.

Highlights of the Jamboree

Throughout the four-day event, scouts participated in a variety of activities designed to strengthen their competencies and teamwork. These included training sessions and competitive activities such as Safe from Harm orientation, Emergency Preparedness, Safety and Basic First Aid, Scout Skills, River Crossing, Obstacle Course, Ham Radio operation, and Compass Reading.

Scouts also took part in advancement activities, allowing them to demonstrate their skills and earn progress in their scouting journey. Other meaningful activities included tree planting, which emphasized environmental stewardship, and hiking, which tested the scouts’ endurance, navigation, and cooperation.

These activities encouraged participants to apply their knowledge, work collaboratively with fellow scouts, and develop confidence in overcoming challenges in outdoor settings.

Acknowledgment

The participation of the UBLES boy scouts was made possible through the support and encouragement of the school administrators, BSP City Council scout leaders, supportive parents, stakeholders whose guidance and commitment continue to inspire young learners to actively engage in scouting programs and leadership opportunities.

Highlighting the Impact

The 2026 Scout Council Jamboree provided scouts with a valuable opportunity to learn beyond the classroom while strengthening their character and leadership abilities. Through engaging activities and real-life challenges, participants enhanced their problem-solving skills, teamwork, and commitment to service.

More importantly, the experience reinforced the core principles of Scouting—duty to God, duty to country, and service to others—preparing young scouts to become responsible leaders and active members of their communities.
