On September 19, the University of Baguio (UB) in partnership with the UB-Science High School (UBSHS) donated four computer units to its adopted school, Adiwang Elementary School (AES).

Dr. Rosie Beel Marzo, current officer-in-charge and Public Schools District Supervisor, and some faculty members received four computer units from UB and UBSHS. The said donations amounting to PhP 54, 856 were approved and prepared by the University through its Management Information System and were delivered by the UBSHS Extension and Community Outreach Services Coordinator, Mr. Kevin Jake Angyab, and other faculty members, namely Mr. Isagani Dumpayan, Mr. Clarence Mortel, and Ms. Jojo Inuguidan.

The benefaction reflects the commitment of the school donor to its adopted schools and the achievement of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization’s Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” and 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) to “make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable”.

“Wow, thank you so much for these donations. They are surely helpful to our students since they usually visit the computer room for their research and assignments. Now, they have computers to use during their sessions for Smart Learning Communities, a project launched by the Department of Education for them,” Dr. Marzo exclaimed.

UBSHS and AES are set to collaboratively work for more school-based programs and extension services for this academic year.
