SBAA Promotes Inclusive Student Community

In an effort toward enhancing each  SBAA student’s sense of awareness, and identity, and fostering inclusion in the classroom community, the School of Business Administration and Accountancy (SBAA) student Body hosted this academic year’s school orientation last August 31, 2023 at the university gymnasium. The school’s assembly manifests the caring culture of the University of Baguio.

Dean Kareen’s engagement

Dr. Kareen B. Leon, school dean, engaged business and accountancy students on school strategies and presented evidence of the school’s achievements through the years. The school’s performances are above the national passing rate in the LECPA which includes UB top notchers highlighting the board performance of Tom Brian Aguilar who garnered the 3rd highest rating entire the Philippines in May 2013. Excellent performances of business students in local and national competitions and business exposure like the American Chamber of Commerce business leadership programs and internal exchange students with Thailand and the United States were likewise emphasized.

BSBA Program Chair Teasers

The business administration program chair, Ms. Madeline M. Salvino highlighted the registration, recognition, and accreditation components of the business administration programs relative to local and international standards. The competency standards were sufficiently discussed to boost students’ confidence in the adequacy and quality of preparation and exposure that will ease their entry and path to a career in their chosen profession.

SB Adviser’s Brief

Mr. John V. Balanquit, the student body adviser expounded on the policies and guidelines on student activities and student organizations. Significant student support and services were also emphasized to help students maximize the benefits of the services offered to them.

The participation of all faculty members from both business and accountancy programs during the general assembly was overwhelming. Student engagement with the faculty during the orientation was amplified by the awarding of prizes to winning participants by the faculty members.
