BAGUIO CITY — The University of Baguio’s School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety (SCJPS) brought an intense energy to the University of Baguio Cardinals Gymnasium during the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship round in the 1st phase of the College Intramurals Academic Year 2025 – 2026. Wherein, the Patriots have once again made history by winning the University of Baguio Basketball Intramurals 2025–2026 Champion title with both its men’s and women’s basketball teams. A pivotal moment for the school, as this double victory demonstrates not only athletic prowess but also a strong dedication to discipline, resiliency, and teamwork.

Both teams had to put up with intense drills, late-night practices, and demanding training sessions from the start of the season. Every athlete had to have unwavering determination to balance academic obligations with physical preparation. Their capacity to maintain academic excellence while striving for athletic greatness demonstrates SCJPS’s commitment to the holistic development of mind, body, and character and reflects the principles of SDG 4: Quality Education.

Players from both teams struggled with exhaustion, injuries, and intense competition throughout the semester. Nevertheless, they overcame each obstacle. SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being is embodied in this dedication to preserving mental health, emotional fortitude, and physical fitness. Their championship journey was built on proper recuperation, disciplined routines, and teamwork.

The coaching staff behind these winning teams shaped the athletes into disciplined, cohesive competitors through strategy, mentoring, and guidance. Their leadership made sure that every player, male or female, developed both character and skill, encouraging them to realize their full potential.

The overwhelming support from the SCJPS family, SCJPS Student Body, and the SCJPS Sports Committee was equally important. An environment of solidarity and pride was fostered by their attendance at games, unwavering logistical support, and continuous encouragement. This effective partnership exemplifies SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals and demonstrates the strength of a community when it unites to support its athletes.

There is more to the SCJPS Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams’ dual championship victory than just a victory on the court. It is a celebration of tenacity, self-control, cooperation, and camaraderie. This accomplishment serves as a potent reminder that hard work, teamwork, and an unwavering dedication to excellence are the foundations of great success. SCJPS continues to motivate the entire University of Baguio community with this historic victory, demonstrating what is achievable when perseverance and unity come together.
