The 3rd BRIDGE Education Internship Fair continues to serve as a crucial platform for UBians to explore both local and international pathways for academic and professional growth, further enhancing the University of Baguio’s reputation as a beacon of excellence in education. Organized by the Linkages Office, led by Ms. Melanie Rulla-Saro, the event recognizes that fostering global competitiveness is crucial for producing graduates who can thrive in diverse cultural and professional environments.
Held on October 9, 2025, at the UB Cardinals Gymnasium, a total of four hundred and sixty-two (462) attendees (students, working committee, and partnered representatives from various companies with exceptional tenure) visited to experience the services and academic offerings, as well as internships/immersion opportunities, to Junior (3rd-year) and senior (4th-year) college students from the University. Showcasing the enticing nature of their field and expertise that foster sustainability in career prospects, and opportunities to venture out on local, national, and international levels.



Garnering a significant number of attendees, the event welcomed university students coming from the School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, followed by the School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety, School of Nursing, School of Business Administration and Accountancy, School of Engineering and Architecture, School of Natural Sciences, and finishing with participants from the UB High School Department.
Opening the program was a brief yet substantial message from the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Ms. Janice Kaylyn C. Lonogan, highlighting the significance of the occasion and encouraging students to make the most of this valuable opportunity. Further discussing the valuable roles of academic knowledge and skill attainment to directly contribute to the vicarious Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aligned with the event, emphasizing their relevance and importance.

The BRIDGE program (Broadening Reach through International Development and Global Experience) is a cornerstone event designed to connect students, faculty, and alumni with a broad spectrum of opportunities in education, cultural exchange programs, and internship opportunities that go beyond the national setting.
The event was further enriched by the presence of esteemed guests and professionals in the technological and hospitality industry that goes beyond borders, including Ms. Crystal Mae Dirige-Benauro, Asia Regional Talent Development Manager at Texas Instruments, Inc., and Mr. Roberto Garcia, General Manager of John Hay Hotels by Landco Lifestyle Ventures.





Facing adversities: keeping UB safe and secure
While the event was an undeniable success, it was also marred by an unexpected calamity, as a magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck during the fair. However, the University’s quick response and robust safety protocols ensured that the event continued with minimal disruption.
The university’s Risk Management Office (RMO), Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Team, UB Management, and Linkages Office Committee members worked seamlessly to ensure the swift evacuation of participants and exhibitors, prioritizing their safety above all else. This response undeniably highlights the University’s readiness to handle unforeseen situations and natural adversities, ensuring its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the community involved.
Educational opportunities that champion mobility and practice resilience
The 3rd International Education Fair exemplifies UB’s commitment to expanding the horizons of its students and preparing them for an increasingly interconnected world. The University has consistently recognized that fostering global competitiveness is crucial for producing graduates who can thrive in diverse cultural and professional environments. The BRIDGE Fair is one of many initiatives that reflect UB’s dedication to providing its students with the resources, knowledge, and networks they need to succeed.







The event nurtured various SDG goals that were expected and made the basis for the curation of the event, primarily SDG 4 (quality education) in championing academic excellence and opportunities to dive into, SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), SDG 9 (industry, innovation, and infrastructure), SDG 10 (reduced inequalities), and SDG 17 (partnerships for the goals). By continuously strengthening partnerships with global and local institutions, the University of Baguio is not only creating opportunities for academic growth but also playing a significant role in shaping the future of education and international collaboration.
The fair also reinforces the University’s long-standing goal of nurturing globally competent graduates who are ready to face the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
