The University of Baguio (UB) Gymnasium came alive from September 8–10, 2025, as students, faculty, and staff gathered for Dapit Ubiano 2025: Retracing Footsteps in the Familiar, a vibrant celebration marking this year’s University Week.

Organized by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), the three-day event served as both a non-academic competition and a wellness activity, blending fun, learning, and camaraderie. With the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA), the event emphasized UB’s mission to nurture holistic development through the UBIAN culture, academic excellence, creativity, and social engagement.

One of the highlights was the Booth Fair, where departments showcased ingenuity through interactive displays. The Freshman Walk symbolically welcomed first-year students into the UB community, reinforcing a sense of belonging. Students also competed in lively contests such as dance, singing, photography, and vlogging, turning the gym into a hub of artistry and energy. The School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) emerged as a strong contender, bringing home multiple recognitions, including the Pinasikap Award, Sustainabooth Award, Most Creative Award, Most Organized Award, Best Student Vlog, Best Advocacy, and the coveted Booth of the Year – Champion title.

Beyond the competitions, Dapit Ubiano 2025 also stood as UB’s contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event promoted Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3) through physical and wellness-focused activities, strengthened Quality Education (SDG 4) by creating a balance between academics and engagement, and supported and encouraged Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11) with creative and eco-conscious booth designs.

The OSA emphasized that Dapit Ubiano is more than just a showcase of talent and competition—it is a gateway for new and returning students to connect, adapt, and thrive in UB’s dynamic environment. True to its objectives, the event fostered school spirit, strengthened friendships, and laid the groundwork for another year of collaboration and excellence.

As the last cheers echoed through the gym, Dapit Ubiano 2025 stood as a reminder that while competitions may end, the bonds and lessons built along the way will continue to guide UBians on their academic journey.
