Access to safe water is a basic human right. This includes having access to safe and affordable drinking water. With this, the University of Baguio has provided free drinking water for its students, employees, and visitors.
Drinking water is essential to have a healthy body that functions well. In schools, it is important for students to stay hydrated to help them perform better. In line with this, the Campus Planning and Development Office, with the recommendation of Engr. Julia Flores, has restored the water station in the FGB Building Food Court last 2019.
The water station has undergone a series of water testing at the Department of Science and Technology, only when the results came back positive that it was allowed to be consumed by the public. As of the moment, the water station is undergoing a quarterly microbiological test and semi-annual physicochemical test to see that the water station is safe for consumption and is compliant with the standards stated in the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water.
The water station has been supplying free refills of drinking water to the different offices of the University. The offices would request by filling -out the request form and then bringing their emptied water gallons to the water station to be cleaned and refilled. Visitors and Students can refill their water bottles at the faucet outside the water station
