Students, teachers, staff, and members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the University of Baguio Science High School successfully conducted an Immersion Camp and Outreach Activity from January 28–30, 2026, at Francia Sur Elementary School in Tubao, La Union. The three-day activity brought together Grade 8, Grade 10, and Grade 12 HUMSS students to engage in meaningful community-based learning and service.

One of the highlights of the immersion camp was the Academic Outreach Program led by Grade 8 students. During this activity, the students facilitated learning sessions for children from Grades 1 to 6 of Francia Sur Elementary School. They taught basic academic skills and concepts through engaging and interactive strategies, helping reinforce foundational knowledge among the pupils. The activity allowed the students to experience the value of teaching, mentorship, and community service.

Meanwhile, Grade 10 and Grade 12 HUMSS students participated in the “Visit a Family” immersion activity. In this experience, students spent half a day with selected families in the community, giving them an opportunity to observe daily life, understand the challenges faced by local residents, and build meaningful connections with the community members. The activity fostered empathy, cultural awareness, and social responsibility among the participants.

In support of the outreach initiative, the PTA and the UB Science High School community donated a pressure tank for the school, along with school supplies and grocery items for selected beneficiaries.

The immersion camp aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, Sustainable Development Goal 1: No Poverty, and Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as it promoted inclusive education, community support, and collaboration.

Overall, the immersion and outreach activity was a meaningful and successful experience, strengthening the spirit of service and community engagement among the participants.
