The UBLES Small Voices proudly earned a Bronze Diploma in the Children’s Choir Category during the recently concluded 1st MDS Candon City Choral Festival, held from February 20 – 22, 2026, in Candon City, Ilocos Sur. The festival gathered young choral groups from various institutions, providing a platform to celebrate musical excellence, cultural expression, and artistic collaboration.
In recognition of their achievement, the group paid a courtesy call to the University President’s Office on March 16, 2026. As part of the visit, the choir delivered a captivating performance of Chua-ay, arranged by Ms. Normita Rio-Pablico. The piece highlighted not only their vocal discipline and musicality but also their dedication to promoting Filipino cultural heritage through choral music. Their performance served as a testament to their hard work, training, and passion for the arts.
This milestone underscores the continued growth and development of the UBLES Small Voices as young ambassadors of culture and music. Through their participation in national-level events, the group strengthens its role in representing both the City of Baguio and the University of Baguio community, while fostering pride in local traditions and artistic excellence. Their journey reflects the importance of nurturing talent at an early stage and providing avenues for creative expression and cultural appreciation.

Moreover, this achievement aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as it highlights the value of collaboration among educational institutions, cultural organizations, and local communities in promoting the arts. The event exemplifies how partnerships can create meaningful opportunities for young performers to grow, connect, and contribute to a shared cultural identity.
The UBLES Small Voices extend their heartfelt gratitude to the University of Baguio Administration, the UBLES Parent-Teacher and Community Association (PTCA), and UBLES Management under the leadership of Dr. Julius T. Gat-eb, Principal, for their unwavering support and commitment to the choir’s development. Their guidance and encouragement continue to open doors for the group to showcase their talents and pursue excellence in the field of music.
As the UBLES Small Voices move forward, they remain dedicated to honing their craft and representing their institution with pride, carrying with them the values of discipline, collaboration, and cultural appreciation in every performance.
