The School of Business Administration and Accountancy (SBAA) of the University of Baguio, in collaboration with two outreach groups from its on-the-job training students has successfully conducted a meaningful Tribute and Recollection for Graduating Students on April 10, 2026 at Hotel Supreme Titanium Hall. The event with the theme “A Million Dreams: Our Next Great Performance”, aimed to celebrate the student’s academic journey while providing an inspiration, reflection and a sneak peak reality of the real-world journey through the resource speakers, who are alumni of the School of Business Administration and Accountancy. It highlighted the importance of both personal and professional growth, the graduates’ readiness and the values that will be built outside a classroom setting. This contributes to the attainment of the University of Baguio’s institutional objective of leading and demonstrating exemplary performance in the field of specialization.

A key highlight of the program was the tribute segment, which featured distinguished speakers including Mr. Ryan Angelo R. De Guzman, CPA, CMA, was the first speaker from BS Accountancy. He inspired the graduates by showing that to be successful in each field, graduates will need to keep going, keep learning and commit to the high standards despite challenges. The second speaker, Capt. Karl Iohann Simeon Bulosan, an Operation Management alumnus, inspired the audiences that degree is not a limitation but rather a strong foundation to a diverse opportunity, making the old UB Motto a reality of “It’s all up here”. The third speaker from BSBA Financial Management, Ms. Marione Grace D. Calub, MBA, who instilled that UBians are lifelong learners, encouraged students to always look for ways to improve and take advantage of every opportunity that comes to the door. Lastly, Ms. Ivy Rose Oriendo-Simeon who graduated from BSBA Marketing Management, her journey inspired the importance of versatility and your personal value and attitude as according to the speaker, you will carry it out wherever you are. Their stories collectively inspired the students to take pride in their specialization while remaining open to growth, challenges, and new opportunities.

The event will not be complete without the foundation of the event, which is the recollection segment that was marked by the inspiring speech of Pastor Lito Cruz. He presented the elements of dreams that made every student understand the deeper importance of everyone’s aspirations. He encourages the graduating students to dream with hope, by strengthening it with faith, as it is the substance of the things we have hoped for, by walking our path diligently, and by always having the desire to fuel our dreams. Pastor Lito provided a platform for everyone’s dream and a deeper connection with God, which shows that dreams are reached with strong faith. These strong reflections allow the student to better understand the reason why they started and how they want to finish their goals, not just in the university but also in their life.

This successful event was filled with 130 individuals together with our excellent speakers and faculty members. The Tribute and Recollection was designed to recognize the journey of the graduates while guiding them toward their future endeavours. However, it’s not only designed to celebrate their accomplishments but also a space and a time for them to reflect, look back and reminisce the challenges and growth that they had while they were in the University of Baguio. The event is a way for the School of Business Administration and Accountancy to put self- awareness to its graduating students as they transition into the real professional world, believing that graduating is only their first step of reality, therefore achieving SDG 4: Quality Education as the University of Baguio’s guide extends beyond their borders. SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth is also attained by the presence of the four resource speakers representing different majors within the SBAA department, inspiring each student in the field of accounting, operation, finance and marketing, encouraging them to fulfil their dreams in their respective chosen career paths.

Through “A Million Dreams: Our Next Great Performance,” SBAA not only celebrated the achievements of its graduating students but also empowered them to move forward with confidence, purpose, and determination as they take their next great step beyond the university.
