Student leaders from the University of Baguio actively participated in the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) Meeting held at Citylight Hotel, Baguio City, in preparation for the upcoming Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 celebration.

The University of Baguio representatives actively contributed to deliberations and expressed support for activities such as the Youth Parliamentary Competition, Health Summit, Sign Language Workshop, Cultural Fest, Youth Peace Convergence, SK Sports Fest, and Color Fun Run. Their participation showed the perspectives and interests of Ubians in the planning process while working with and benchmarking with various youth organizations across Baguio City.
For Ubians, participation in the LYDC serves as an avenue to engage in community initiatives beyond the classroom and contribute to programs that create meaningful impact within the city. It also provides opportunities for student leaders to develop skills in leadership, public service, and project planning while representing the University’s commitment to active citizenship and youth empowerment.
As student-leaders, by taking part in discussions and planning activities such as the Health Summit, Sign Language Workshop, Youth Peace Convergence, and Youth Parliamentary Competition, UB representatives help advance programs that promote quality education, youth well-being, inclusivity, and active participation in community affairs. These efforts align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), demonstrating the University’s dedication to empowering students to become catalysts for positive change both within and beyond the campus.
