Marga Estelle B. Aguirre, a Grade 5 – Moonstone learner, proudly represented the University of Baguio and country at the YONEX–SINGHA–BAT–BTY Championship 2026, held at the Banthongyord Badminton School in Bangkok, Thailand, from June 19 to 24, 2026.
Competing in the Under 11 Girls category, Marga demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship against young badminton athletes from the international community. Her hard work and dedication earned her two Bronze Medals, one in the Under 11 Girls Singles event and another in the Under 11 Girls Doubles event.
Her achievement is more than a victory on the badminton court. It reflects the importance of discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and the courage to take on challenges beyond one’s comfort zone. Marga’s international experience shows how young learners can pursue excellence in both academics and athletics while representing their school with pride.
Her accomplishment also resonates with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, which promotes healthy lifestyles and physical activity, and SDG 4: Quality Education, which emphasizes holistic learning that develops the knowledge, skills, character, and potential of every learner.
