The 3rd International Research Colloquium, held on November 15, 2024, attracted over a hundred attendees and focused on the theme “UB TRANSCeNDS 002: University of Baguio Traverses Research, Alliance, Networking, and Sharing as It Celebrates Notable Development and Success.” The event commenced with welcome remarks from Engr. Javier Herminio D. Bautista, the University President, and an inspirational message from Dr. Janice Kaylyn K. Lonogan, the VP for Academic Affairs.

Keynote speaker Dr. Albert A. Tayong from Majan University College in Oman discussed strategies for high-impact research success.

Ms. Rhisa Aidilla Suprapto of the University of Amikom Yogyakarta, Indonesia, shared her findings on the housing study model for low-energy buildings to support low-income communities in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Followed by various plenary sessions addressing topics such as acculturative stress among foreign Muslim students and financial literacy among college students. Participants included representatives from seven universities across three nations: the Philippines, Indonesia, and Oman.

Throughout the day, attendees engaged in various plenary and parallel sessions where 25 presenters shared their research findings across multiple disciplines. The parallel sessions included topics in Education, Healthcare, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, and Business Management. Presenters discussed diverse subjects such as financial literacy among college students, emotional intelligence in nursing education, and the impact of online teaching methods. The colloquium concluded with awards for speakers and a synthesis of discussions led by moderators from different universities.
This gathering highlighted the University of Baguio’s commitment to academic collaboration and fostered a vibrant exchange of ideas among scholars from diverse institutions. It enhanced networking opportunities across the region and other nations and contributed to the advancement of research initiatives achieving SDGs 4: Quality Education and 17: Partnerships for the Goal.
