Hi Sci. Hi.: Welcoming activity for new students for school year 2025-2026

The Center for Counseling and Student Development-UB Science High School (CCSD-UBSHS), in collaboration with the Science High Ambassadors and the UBSHS Student Parliamentary Government, officially welcomed the new students of School Year 2025–2026 through HI, SCI HIGH!: Welcoming Activity for New Students of SY 2025–2026.

To support the smooth transition of new scholars into the school community, the manongs and manangs facilitated a series of activities and games designed to promote familiarity, camaraderie, and a sense of belonging. The activity was held on July 21, 2025 for incoming Grade 11 students, and on August 4 and 11, 2025 for incoming Grade 7 and 8 students.

This activity also marked the conclusion of the Science High Admission Preparation, Enhancement, and Upskilling Program (SHAPE UP), a program that prepared the new students for their academic and social journey at UB Science High School.

Furthermore, the activity underscored the school’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The activity aimed to address SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – by nurturing a community capable of providing social and emotional support essential for the holistic wellness of scholars. The fun games and activities highlighted the commitment of manongs and manangs in making the adings feel at ease in the school community. Additionally, it targeted SDG 4: Quality Education – by orienting students to facilities, practices, and traditions that enrich their learning experiences. Lastly, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities was practiced– by ensuring inclusivity, promoting awareness of student rights, and providing safe spaces for exploration and growth.

Through HI, SCI HIGH!, the new students were meaningfully introduced to the academic, cultural, and social environment of UB Science High School, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to holistic education and student well-being.
