On May 20, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a seminar titled “Foundation on Psychological Awareness” was held with Ms. Leny Estacio, UB-CCSD Director, as the distinguished speaker. The session covered essential topics such as Mental Health Basics and Suicidology, common myths and facts about suicide, recognizing warning signs, and applying mental health first aid through supportive communication. Twenty-one(21) OSHCOM Safety Officers including One (1) Complaints Handling Officer, learned the effective ways to talk about suicide and the important role of gatekeeping in prevention. Key takeaways included debunking myths like the misconception that most suicides happen without warning and emphasizing that open conversations can save lives.
