PDEA and DENR Conduct Central Supply Room Spot Check at UB

In compliance with the requirements of the concerned government agencies, the University of Baguio has completed the licenses needed to ensure quality education specifically the Permit of Hazardous Waste from the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources (DENR), P3 – End use specified Precursors and Essential Chemicals and P6 – Laboratory Analysis/ Research of specified Precursors and Essential Chemicals license from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Purchaser’s License from Philippine National Police (PNP).

In line with this, a representative from DENR assisted by the director of the Risk Management Office (RMO), Engr. Julia Flores, and laboratory personnel of UB Central Supply Room, Ma’am Lavinia Flores & Ma’am Angela Nica Tuzon, checked the storage and the different mercury compound, lead compound and cyanide compound chemicals of the UB – Central Supply Room that are being used in the laboratories last April 19, 2023 at 11:00 am. 

Additionally, Ma’am Aprile Andason, a representative from PDEA assisted by the Head of Central Supply Room, Ma’am Jacqueline Hernandez, and laboratory personnel, Ma’am Lavinia Flores & Ma’am Angela Nica Tuzon, checked the storage and stocks which includes the semi-annual usage of each controlled chemicals last June 2, 2023 at 10:00 am. 

This spot check was conducted in accordance with SDG No. 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, allowing the university to be more mindful of its management of materials and waste.
