Other Posts

The International Nursing Training Program, a five-day immersive experience, provided Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students from the University of Baguio (UB) with a unique opportunity to enhance their global healthcare competencies. This initiative, a collaboration between UB’s School of Nursing and Insight Global Academy-USA Grit Academy, was part of the Related Learning Experience (RLE) International Practice Immersion, aimed at preparing future nurses for international healthcare settings.

With a focus on international nursing standards, cultural competence, and advanced clinical skills, the program combined interactive lectures, high-fidelity simulations, and hands-on training, ensuring participants gained real-world insights into global healthcare systems.

The training began with Day 1, where students were introduced to international nursing principles, cultural competence, and ethical considerations in global healthcare. They also received training in comprehensive health assessments aligned with international standards. On Day 2, participants engaged in advanced simulations and were introduced to Electronic Health Records (EHRs) used in the US and Canada, enhancing their knowledge of nursing informatics and data-driven healthcare decision-making. Day 3 focused on geriatric and palliative care, covering best practices in elderly care, chronic disease management, and ethical approaches to end-of-life care. Day 4 was dedicated to managing acute and chronic conditions, where students underwent emergency response training, case-based learning, and simulation exercises on Basic & Advanced Life Support (BLS & ALS). Finally, on Day 5, participants synthesized their learning through integrative assessments, reflections, and a closing ceremony that celebrated their achievements and growth throughout the program.

This partnership between UB’s School of Nursing, Insight Global -USA, and Grit Academy highlights the university’s commitment to producing globally competent nurses. By integrating international best practices, cutting-edge technology, and cultural adaptability, the program ensured that students gained a competitive edge in global healthcare settings.

As healthcare continues to evolve, UB nursing students are now better equipped to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care—wherever their careers take them.

Empowering the next generation of nurses through world-class training and global immersion.
