The theme captured the department’s commitment to refinement, integrity, and prestige—values that mirror the timeless sophistication of both the criminology and forensic science disciplines.

Attendees arrived in elegant ensembles inspired by the golden age of fashion—pearls, gloves, coats, and gowns filled the venue, radiating a classic charm that perfectly complemented the gym’s shimmering palette of gold, white, gray, and black.

The “Old Money” concept set a captivating atmosphere of prestige and refinement. Participants arrived dressed in elegantly tailored ensembles inspired by the golden eras of classic fashion—exuding understated wealth, poise, and confidence. The venue radiated grandeur, decorated with gold, white, gray, and black accents that reflected sophistication and timeless elegance.

The celebration began with an inspiring message from Dr. Warren G. Moyao, Program Chair of the Bachelor of Science in Criminology. He reminded everyone that true elegance lies not in appearance but in one’s discipline, collaboration, and integrity—qualities that define future leaders in justice and public safety. His words set a meaningful tone for the entire day’s festivities.

The opening program featured a cultural immersion from UB Bibak Ubbun Kaafuan (UBBUK), promoting peace, unity, and respect for tradition. The collaboration between SCJPS and UBBUK reflected SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals) by celebrating cultural harmony and inclusivity within the university community.

The day was filled with contests that celebrated the students’ discipline, creativity, and camaraderie—all while reflecting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in action.

Conducted in a controlled and safe environment, the event reinforced firearm ethics, responsibility, and accountability—manifestations of SDG 16, which promotes peace and institutional integrity.

Voices of the Manor: The singing competition filled the gym with harmony and emotion. From soulful ballads to upbeat hits, participants showcased their artistry and confidence.

Aristobeat Dancing Competition ignited the stage with synchronized energy and passion. Each performance embodied teamwork and perseverance, encouraging physical fitness and mental wellness in alignment with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

Regal Physique: Mr. Ironman celebrated endurance, strength, and determination. Contestants pushed their limits in a display of athleticism and discipline—an inspiring reflection of SDG 3, promoting health and self-improvement.

The Velvet Sound Crash: Battle of the Bands electrified the crowd with original music and covers that brought together students from both programs. The synergy among performers captured the essence of SDG 17, celebrating unity through shared creativity and collaboration.

The Search for Mr. and Ms. SCJPS 2025 crowned the night with elegance and pride. Candidates graced the stage with confidence, intelligence, and purpose—embodying the school’s values of leadership and excellence. Reigning titleholders Zacharie Zidane Elefante and Kyle Jaize Suguitan passed on their crowns to the next ambassadors of the SCJPS community. The pageant symbolized empowerment and inclusivity, supporting SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by celebrating both strength and grace across all genders.

Adding prestige to the event were SCJPS alumni and local artists who served as judges and guests, strengthening the link between education, professionalism, and community engagement. Their involvement reflected the sustainability of strong institutions through mentorship and active participation—key outcomes of SDG 16 and SDG 17 combined.

At its heart, “Eternal Elegance: The Old Money Affair” was not merely a day of style and celebration—it was a living manifestation of SDG 16. Every competition, collaboration, and performance represented how peace and justice can be achieved through personal integrity, institutional discipline, and collective respect.

The School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety continues to embody the ideals of peace and ethical governance by fostering students who value honesty, fairness, and accountability. Through the integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 16, SCJPS proves that elegance is not only about appearance but also about moral purpose and principled action.

In essence, SCJPS Day & Night 2025 stood as a testament to the University of Baguio’s vision of producing professionals who are not only refined in character and intellect but also steadfast advocates of peace and justice.
